The IV Regional Summit of Methane is Latin America and the Caribbean’s leading forum for exchanging experiences, technologies, and collaboration opportunities to promote more efficient methane management in the energy sector.
This event is organized by the Methane Emissions Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OEMLAC), part of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), in collaboration with various partner organizations from across the region and around the world.
It is a multi-stakeholder forum that brings together governments, international organizations, the private sector, civil society, and academia to address the challenges and opportunities associated with reducing methane emissions in the region’s energy sector.
The IV Regional Summit of Methane, to be held in 2027, will take place amid the growing relevance of the global methane agenda and new regulatory and market requirements that are transforming the energy sector.
Building on the interest generated by previous editions—which brought together more than 220 in-person participants and attracted over 600 online views—the next edition is expected to further expand this regional dialogue platform, led by the Methane Emissions Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OEMLAC) of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), together with international partners.
