Session

Impact Alliances: Public-Private Drivers for Mitigation.

Topic: 1. Governance and Institutional Architecture for Methane Mitigation
Session information

Reducing methane emissions requires going beyond commitments and translating climate ambition into concrete actions. To achieve this, it is essential to promote collaboration among all stakeholders in order to align priorities, share capabilities, and accelerate the implementation of solutions.

Drawing on Brazil’s experience, this session examines how public-private partnerships can drive low-methane-intensity energy systems, bringing together perspectives on operations, planning, and public policy.

The panel will analyze the development of instruments that link climate ambition with business action, technological development, and market opportunities. It will also highlight Brazil’s learnings in integrating methane management into long-term scenarios, connecting oil and gas, biogas, biomethane, and decarbonization strategies.

From this approach, the discussion will offer a practical view on collaboration, investment, innovation, and concrete action for Latin America and the Caribbean.
