Effective management of methane emissions requires not only the design of robust regulatory instruments but also the capacity of States to organize and coordinate their institutional structures.
This panel addresses how different countries in the region are building and adjusting their institutional architectures to advance the implementation of methane mitigation policies, including LDAR regulations, flaring controls, and national roadmaps.
Drawing from concrete experiences, the session will analyze the challenges of inter-institutional coordination, the assignment of roles and jurisdictions, and the mechanisms that allow for the translation of regulatory frameworks into effective actions. This space seeks to provide a practical perspective on the institutional conditions necessary to advance the climate and energy agenda in the region.
