
Dr. Adolfo Contreras Ruiz Esparza is a Technical Consultant at Schlumberger Emissions, Technologies and Solutions (ETS), where he works on decarbonization and new energy solutions.
He has extensive experience in the energy and climate change fields, having served as a Senior Data Analyst in the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP 2.0), within the Energy and Climate Change Division of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as well as collaborating with CONACYT and the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change.
His professional trajectory includes leadership in international projects, mitigation policy modeling, and the development of solutions in the energy sector. He has been recognized with the United Nations Award in the Data for Climate Action Challenge and the IMP-SENER Award for applied research.
He holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from UNAM and also earned a doctorate in Ocean Physics from the University of Hamburg.
