
A graduate of the Bachelor's program in Geography and the Master's program in Data Science from the University of Guadalajara, Carol Castañeda has completed numerous academic residencies in Brazil, Germany, and Canada. She has worked as a GIS Specialist at the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning of Uruguay and at CartoData, a leading company in photogrammetry and spatial data integration. Currently, she teaches in the Department of Geography at the University of the Republic and works as a Remote Sensing Analyst at IMEO (UNEP), where she validates methane emission alerts from the oil and gas sector in Latin America and the coal sector worldwide.
