Florencia Carreras is the Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean at the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a role in which she collaborates closely with the scientific team, regional governments, experts, and stakeholders to support methane commitments in the region.
She has extensive experience as a legal advisor in the public sector, primarily serving as environmental legal advisor to the President of the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee of the Argentine Senate (2020-2023).
She is a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in Environmental and Energy Law. She holds diplomas in “Environment, Energy, Mining, and Hydrocarbons” from Austral University and in “Development and Financing of Renewable Energy Projects” from CEMA University. She also holds a Master's degree in Environmental Law, Policy, and Management from Austral University.
