Iris Cardenas is the current Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons at the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Perú.
She has more than 20 years of experience in sustainable development, evaluation of environmental studies in hydrocarbons and electricity, energy policy design, planning, forecasting, and energy efficiency.
The Deputy Minister is an economist and holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a specialization in Quantitative Methods in Economics. She completed postgraduate studies in Economics and Energy Planning in Argentina, and additional training in Energy Planning in Japan and the United States. She also has doctoral studies in Environment and Sustainable Development.
