
Juan Manuel Calderón is Public Policy Director at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), a leading organization dedicated to developing science-based, innovative solutions for environmental protection and the sustainable management of natural resources for the benefit of communities. He coordinates EDF’s methane initiative in Mexico, which aims to support the development of a national agenda for the effective mitigation of this highly potent greenhouse gas.
Previously, he held senior leadership positions within Mexico’s federal government, serving in the Office of the Presidency, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), and the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). He has also worked in the private sector, including with Sanofi and GS1 Mexico.
He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Universidad Anáhuac, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and completed an Executive Management program in Sustainable Finance at the Yale University School of Management.
