Session

Industrial Transformation: Leading Efficiency in Low-Intensity Energy Systems

Topic: 3. Competitiveness and Low Methane-Intensity Energy Chains
Session information

In the context of the energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean, improving the efficiency of hydrocarbon operations represents a concrete opportunity to reduce methane emissions in an accessible and short-term manner.

This session will explore how to move beyond approaches focused solely on monitoring and regulatory compliance toward integrating methane reduction into operational and strategic decision-making processes.

Drawing on monitoring, quantification, and emissions analytics tools, the discussion will address technically feasible transformations, adoption barriers, and the conditions needed to accelerate industrial modernization processes.

The panel will bring together operators, technology providers, and industrial stakeholders to exchange experiences on operational efficiency, competitiveness, innovation, and lower-methane-intensity energy systems.
