Irene Alfaro is the Senior Managing Director of the Association of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL), an organization she has been affiliated with for nearly 21 years as Downstream Director & Managing Director.
With a solid professional track record, Irene has led strategic initiatives related to sustainability, energy efficiency, and the energy transition, coordinating efforts among companies, governments, and international organizations.
She is a chemical engineer from the University of the Republic of Uruguay and holds postgraduate degrees in environmental management and sustainable development.
